RIDGEFIELD, CT — A Ridgefield driver was cited following a two-vehicle crash near the entrance to Ridgefield High School on Monday morning that left one person with minor injuries, according to the Ridgefield Police Department.
Police said officers responded at about 7:51 a.m. July 6 to the crash on Ridgebury Road at the high school entrance. A preliminary investigation determined that an eastbound vehicle on Ridgebury Road was struck by a westbound vehicle that was making a left turn into the school entrance.
One of the drivers was transported to Danbury Hospital with injuries that police described as non-life-threatening. The second driver was evaluated at the scene and declined medical transportation, according to Ridgefield PD Capt. John Knoche.
The roadway was temporarily affected while emergency personnel responded, and both vehicles were removed by towing companies. Police said both vehicles sustained disabling front-end damage, including airbag deployment.
Following the investigation, police issued an infraction to one motorist, charging him with making an improper turn. The investigation has been completed, according to the department.
