Ridgefield Dumpster Dog Reunited With Owner

Ridgefield Animal Control Officer Cole said the dog was reunited with her owner and his home safe, according to Ridgefield Animal Control.

A small female black lab was found in a dumpster at Farmingville Elementary School earlier this week and is now home safe and sound, thanks to her micro chip.

“I got so many calls on that dog,” Officer Cole said. People were upset that they thought someone had purposely put the dog in the dumpster, however Officer Cole said the lab’s owner lives nearby and she got away.

“We think she wandered away from her home, smelled something she wanted in the dumpster and accidentally fell in. We ran her chip and reunited her with her owner,” Cole told Patch.
