Ridgefield Finance Board Floats Tax Increase

School budget request trimmed, road work budget increase approved.

RIDGEFIELD, CT --- The finance board unanimously approved a $144,360,000 town budget proposal, with a commensurate 1.8 percent tax increase, for 2018-19, the Ridgefield Press has reported.

In a meeting Monday night, the board voted to trim the school budget request to 2.55 percent and approve the 2.49 percent increase sought for road work. They also voted to draw down $1.6 million from the town’s $14.5-million surplus fund balance and book it as non-tax revenue.
