Ridgefield Firefighters Congratulate Captain on College Degree

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Firefighters congratulated one of their own on the awarding of his college degree.

The Ridgefield Professional Firefighters took to social media to honor Captain Tony Cerulli on receiving his bachelor's degree in fire administration from Columbia Southern University. The curriculum focused on human resources, the budgeting process and incident command, according to the post on Facebook.

Captain Cerulli has been with the fire company since 1999 according to the post. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2014, and then to captain of "C" shift in 2018.

"This achievement embodies the philosophy of the Fire Administration with Chief Myers and Chief Tappe before him," the company posted on social media, "that training and education is a top priority, and are fully supportive of members in their pursuit to further their academic achievements. This, coupled with the fact that we serve the greatest community in Fairfield County makes our members truly 'The Best In The Business.'"
