Ridgefield Gift Shop to Shutter Shortly

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Purple Frog Gift Shop in town has announced it will be closing before the end of the year.

In business at 414 Main Street in Ridgefield for the last five years, The Purple Frog took to social media to notify customers it will be shuttering on Dec. 31.

Declaring that "everything must go," the store has marked every item down by at least 50 percent from its original price. The proprietors are also looking to off-load their shelves and display tables.

"Please remember your Ridgefield stores during a time when Amazon is breaking all online records," a store spokesperson wrote on Facebook. "If this trend continues our precious downtown is going to look very different in 5 years’ time."
