Ridgefield High School will be cleaned in advance of the first day of school, after a visitor tested positive for COVID-19.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — A letter alerting parents and staff that someone who was in the Ridgefield High School building tested positive for COVID-19 was distributed on Sunday.
The building is being cleaned in advance of faculty's arrival on Aug. 19 and the first day of school on Aug. 27, according to the letter signed by Aaron Crook, the school system's COVID-19 health and safety compliance liaison.
"We have alerted those who would have had access to Ridgefield High School on August 10, 2020. The building was closed for educational programming to students on this date. Ridgefield High School will be thoroughly cleaned before professional development begins for teachers and staff," Crook wrote.
