Ridgefield High Students Launch Charitable Organization: Report

With the help of several community groups, Hometown Kindness works to provide basic items to those in need.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Two Ridgefield High School students who have a history of charitable work have launched a charitable organization to provide everyday items to those in need, as well as provide an opportunity to have a nice evening with their families, reports the News Times.

With some help from the Rotary Club of Ridgefield, RHS juniors Nick Jerome and Kristen Savino have started Hometown Kindness, an organization which aims to provide basic needs such as clothing and other everyday items. The two also hope to get donations of gift cards from local stores and restaurants so that those in need can enjoy a nice meal or new item.

Savino told the News Times that the organization's first project would likely be a coat drive with boxes set up at the Lounsbury House and Ridgefield Playhouse. The report further indicated donations would be accepted based on seasonal needs.
