Ridgefield Highway Dept Fights Hunger
The Ridgefield Highway Department will be participating in the Fill A Public Works Truck food drive,

RIDGEFIELD, CT --- May 20-26 marks National Public Works Week, and Ridgefield will be marking it in part by collecting food and household goods to support the Ridgefield Food Pantry.
The Ridgefield Highway Department will be participating in the Fill A Public Works Truck food drive, joining a growing list of New England communities who will be topping off local food pantries while raising awareness of their public work department's operations.
Residents are encouraged to bring goods to the Highway Department, located at 60 South Street, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 23.
The drive is accepting peanut butter, hearty soups, canned stew, cookies, fruit snack packs, applesauce, brownie mixes, cake mixes, frosting, jello/pudding, oatmeal, milk (shelf stable), coffee, tea, jelly, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, or cooking oil, cereal, crackers, canned fruit, tuna, tomato sauce, snacks (pretzels/nuts/raisins), pasta and rice mixes, canned beans, canned meats (chicken/ham/spam).
The Ridgefield Food Pantry is also accepting personal care and household items: soap and body wash, shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, and dish soap.
