Ridgefield Independent Film Festival Announces 2023 Venues

The Ridgefield Independent Film Festival has announced its venue lineup (to date) for the 8th Annual RIFF, May 18-21, 2023.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Independent Film Festival has announced its venue lineup (to date) for the 8th Annual RIFF, May 18-21, 2023.

"As much as RIFF is meant to introduce independent films and filmmakers to local residents, it is also meant to share the town of Ridgefield and its many assets with filmmakers from around the world," organizer Joanne Hudson said in a news release. "Towards that goal, the festival will lead its audience through the town, highlighting as many Ridgefield gems as possible."

The Festival will open Thursday night, May 18 at The Ridgefield Playhouse with a feature film to be determined, and will continue on Friday afternoon, May 19, at The Ridgefield Library, and evening at The Prospector Theater. Friday late-night, the festival will move us to The Ridgefield Theater Barn for "Psych Night, a popular offering that showcases weird and wonderful shorts."

On Saturday, the festival will have screenings running all day and evening at the Theater Barn and Keeler Tavern Museum, followed by a closing night party at a location to be determined. Sunday will be devoted to an Awards Ceremony at Keeler Tavern Museum. From May 2-21 selected film posters will be displayed at Ridgefield Library’s art gallery.

"In addition to these core venues, Ridgefield shops and restaurants are welcome to RIFF along, with self-produced pop up venues that the festival will be happy to curate," Hudson said. "An example of this is Luc’s Cafe which hosted animated French films on their bar TV for the first RIFF."
