Ridgefield Jewish Congregation Receives Bomb Threat On 'Day Of Rage'
Congregation Shir Shalom in Ridgefield was evacuated Friday morning following an anonymous bomb threat. Police found no bomb.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Police Department received a call of a bomb threat to Congregation Shir Shalom at 46 Peaceable Street Friday morning.
No bomb was found, following the building's evacuation and searches by the Stamford Police Department's bomb detection K-9 and his handler, along with a team from the Ridgefield PD.
The threat, called in around 10:30 a.m., comes on a so-called global "Day of Jihad" called by Khaled Mashal, the former political bureau chairman of Hamas.

"It is our understanding that multiple other places of worship, throughout the State of Connecticut received similar threats today," Ridgefield PD Capt. Jeff Raines said.
Police are urging residents to "be vigilant and if you see something suspicious, please contact us immediately @ (203) 438-6531 or dial 911 if necessary."
