National Voter Registration Day
Tuesday, September 27, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Main Lobby
Need to register to vote, or change your address or register a party affiliation? The town registrars and the League of Women Voters can help.

Registration forms are also available at the Circulation Desk any time and can be returned to the Registrars' Office at town hall Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM. You may also register online. Deadlines are approaching for registration and absentee ballot requests ahead of the November 8th
election, so do it today!

Adult Maker Group

Come join this fall kickoff of our Adult Maker Group and tinker with us. This month the group will do a review of working with Arduinos (including the Arudino IDE software) for those new to the group and in preparation for future projects exploring the Internet of Things. This group is for those 18 years of age and over. Registration recommended.

Candidates Forum

Co-sponsored by the Ridgefield League of Women Voters and the Ridgefield Library. The forum will feature candidates running for election to represent residents of Ridgefield in Hartford. Candidates for CT State Senate, 26th District and CT State Legislature 111th and 138th Districts have been invited to attend.

The public is invited and will have an opportunity to submit questions on League provided cards up to 10 minutes before the start of the debate (6:50 PM) for possible use during the forum.The Forum will be moderated by a representative of the CT League of Women Voters. No registration.

Field Trip to the World Maker Faire

A few places are still available for our bus trip to the World Maker Faire in Queens on Sunday, October 2nd. Bus travel and admission generously provided by the Donofrio Family; lunch and any other purchases are your own responsibility. We will leave Ridgefield at 9:00 AMand return by 5:00 PM. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult; not suitable for very young children. A great family experience! The Library is pleased to join the Ridgefield Playhouse in bringing to Ridgefield live stage adaptations of beloved children's books. This week: Pete the Cat.

Come to the Library to check out the originals or related books or hear them read at storytime, then experience them live @ the Playhouse.Contact the Playhouse at 203-438-5795 for information and tickets. Selected submissions from our children's story contest will be performed by this professional group, along with some of their audience favorites, in a great show for the whole family.

Purchase your tickets now to the October 1st Story Pirates benefit performance at the Ridgefield Playhouse. The show starts at 5:00 PM; doors open at 4:30. Proceeds support the operations of the Library.

Odyssey of the Mind Teams Forming

The Ridgefield Library provides membership for teams to take part in the Odyssey of the Mind competition. Teams are forming now for elementary, middle and high school students. If you would like to be a part of a team, please contact the Library at info@ridgefieldlibrary.org. Adult coaches for all levels are also sought; training is free and the first date is Saturday, November 5th. To learn more about Odyssey of the mind, go to ctom.org.

New Guidelines for Inter-Library Loan Service and Placing Hold Requests

After several months of service interruption, the Connecticut State Library has issued new guidelines for inter-library loan service through its deliverIT transport system.

To comply with these guidelines, the Ridgefield Library has put new protocols in place that restore access to inter-library loan service (with some limitations) and simplify placing holds once again. Please click here to see full details, or ask any staff member for information.
