The event is now scheduled to take place Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. behind the Starbucks at 194 Danbury Rd.
RIDGEFIELD, CT—The Ridgefield Lions Club has rescheduled its annual "Document Shred Day" two months from now due to the coronavirus.
"If social distancing is still in effect, we can advise," the club posted on its official Facebook page. "If masks and gloves are still required, we will be equipped. Thank you for your patience."
The event is now scheduled to take place Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. behind the Starbucks at 194 Danbury Rd.
During that time, the club will be shredding boxes of old papers, which can include bills, receipts, bank statements, tax forms and more.
Oak Ridge Massive Mobile Shredder will be on hand to tear the boxes of paper to shreds as residents watch.
No appointments are necessary.
The cost of the service is $10 per box. The money raised from the event will be used by the club to provide services to senior citizens, student scholarships and many other local projects.
