Ridgefield Looking to Beautify Main Street

If approved, the project would be done in coordination with the state's renovation of traffic flow around Main Street,

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Board of Selectmen have decided to add a little lux to the state's plan to improve the flow of traffic around Main Street, the Ridgefield Press is reporting.

The state has asked the town to officially give its support to the $3.15 million project, and the board voted to do just that on Sept. 5. The renovation has been under discussion for two years.

Board members are also asking First Selectman Rudy Marconi to look into beautifying the streetscape around the road renovation. Lampposts, benches and landscaping were among the suggestions.

The state's renovation is scheduled to begin in 2019 with some utility work, but commence in earnest in April of 2020. The projected finish is end of summer/early fall of 2020.
