ROAR is also celebrating its 15th year in the Donofrio Family Animal Shelter in Ridgefield, Connecticut and fifth year as the Connecticut Chapter of Pets for Vets®.

“ROAR would not exist without the generous, ongoing support of our sponsors, volunteers and donors,” said Kerry Dobson, Executive Director for ROAR. “Didi Tulloch and BMW of Ridgefield have been long-time supporters of ROAR and their compassion and relentless
commitment to helping our rescue animals find homes and support in our community have been remarkable. They deserve to be honored and we can’t wait to do this at our gala and celebrate successful adoptions and other milestones.” Didi Tulloch, ROAR’s Community Star Award Honoree, started volunteering at ROAR in 2009. In 2010, she started ROAR’s Pet Therapy Program, from which the current 30 pet therapy teams were born. These teams visit seniors in elder care facilities, help young students with one-on-one reading programs and go to area schools to help children with special needs. Didi also serves as the Director of the Pets for Vets®-ROAR-Ridgefield CT Chapter. Since 2015, 14 trained, skilled companion animals from ROAR have been successfully matched with deserving American veterans in Connecticut and Westchester, New York.

As an annual sponsor of ROAR for many years, BMW of Ridgefield supports ROAR by hosting
adoption events at its dealership and other special fundraising events and collaborates with
ROAR to share information about our adoptable dogs and cats. From 2013 to 2017, BMW staff cleared their showroom, allowing ROAR to transform it into its Gala with a stage, dining area and silent auction. At ROAR’s Annual Gala this year, attendees will enjoy a cocktail reception, dinner, open bar, silent and live auctions, and live music. Jay Raven, co-host of the #1 rated Anna & Raven Show of Star 99.9 WEZN FM in Fairfield County, CT and 97.5 WALK FM in Long Island, NY will serve as ROAR’s Master of Ceremonies. A dog daddy to two rescue terrier mixes, Jay works
extensively with area rescue foundations. ROAR’s auctions will feature several items including: a weeklong stay at the Ritz Carleton on Grand Cayman Island; Legend seating at a Yankees game; rounds of golf on a number of Fairfield County’s finest courses; and other wonderful items donated by local businesses. The event’s silent auction will also be open to the public online, giving those who can’t attend the event an opportunity to bid on items from their computers or smartphones. Bidding will start online a week before the event and end at the ROAR Annual Gala 2020 event on March 7th .
