Ridgefield P & Z Commission Approves Permit for Dredging Business
The commission denied the permit in June, citing equipment neighbors said created an eyesore and devalued property.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — At a Sept. 19 meeting, the Planning and Zoning Commission gave its go-ahead for the drafting of a special permit for Sacred Waters LLC, a pond-dredging service located at 6 Clearview Drive, The Ridgefield Press is reporting. The company is owned and operated by John Keegan , who has operated it at that location for several years.
At a meeting in June, the commission denied the permit application. Residents who spoke out then claimed Keegan's equipment, which includes a 22-foot pontoon boat, creates an eyesore and devalues surrounding properties. At the conclusion of the June meeting, Keegan offered to build structures and/or plant evergreen trees to conceal the equipment.

This beautification and obfuscation is a condition in the the terms now drafted in the special permit. Keegan has agreed to put up a fence and more plantings to block the views of neighbors.
