Ridgefield Playhouse Renovation on Budget Referendum
The theater has seen no major renovation in nearly two decades.

RIDGEFIELD, CT --- A $1.35 million renovation to the town-owned Venus Building to accommodate the expansion of the Ridgefield Playhouse has just been added to next year's capital budget. It would be the first major expansion to the theater since it opened in December 2000.
The renovation is just one cascade in a series of renovations and improvements. In addition to updating the first floor of the building to accommodate the Board of Education offices, the plan will see the Playhouse expand to existing Board of Education space and relocate several smaller tenants. Chef’s Warehouse will expand to the second floor of the south wing.
The project will appear as a separate item on the town’s May 15 budget referendum.
