Ridgefield Public Schools Names New Finance Director
Jill Browne comes to Ridgefield from the Bristol school system, where she has served as director of Finance since 2017.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Public Schools announced the appointment of Jill Browne as the new director of Finance.
Browne comes to Ridgefield from the Bristol Public Schools, where she has worked as director of Finance since 2017 and director of Finance and Operations since 2018.
Prior to Bristol, Browne worked in various capacities as a business manager, human resources manager, and assistant principal in the Watertown Public Schools, and Math Department leader and teacher at other Connecticut schools since 2004. Before her career in public education, she was in marketing and administration.
"Jill Browne has decades of experience in education as well as time spent in the private sector,"said RPS Superintendent Susie Da Silva. "Her responsibilities in public school finance, budget, operations, facilities, human resources, technology, and the classroom make her an excellent fit for RPS."
"Ridgefield is a community that has a very high regard for education, evidenced by its consistent pursuit of high achievement at every level," Browne said. "The members of the Central Office Cabinet and the RPS Administrative team are a top-notch group of educational leaders, and I am excited to bring nearly 20 years of experience in the field of education to the Ridgefield team."
Browne will begin at RPS on June 1.
