Ridgefield Public Schools Return To Hybrid Attendance Model
All Ridgefield public school students will return to school on Jan. 4 in a hybrid learning model.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — All Ridgefield public school students will return to school on Jan. 4 in a hybrid learning model.
The model will be followed through Jan. 8, and the district will notify families by Jan. 6 regarding the status of the following week. The attendance models for subsequent weeks will be determined on the preceding Wednesdays.
Superintendent Susie Da Silva made the decision in consultation with the school district's medical advisor Dr. James Ahern and the town's director of Public Health, Ed Briggs.
The change affects the town's six elementary schools the most, as students there have enjoyed full in-person learning for students for most of the term.
As of Wednesday, the Ridgefield Public Schools have had 103 known cases of COVID-19, according to their virus data tracker. RPS has placed 1,348 students and staff in quarantine after potential exposures in school, on the bus, and at athletic events.
