Ridgefield Ranked Among Top 10 Safest Cities in America
The ranking is based off of FBI crime statistics and local police, public health and educational information.

Recently, SafeWise released its report on the 100 safest cities in America and Ridgefield made the list at number 4.
Ridgefield was ranked as the number one safest city in Connecticut.
“SafeWise security experts have collected and analyzed the most recent FBI crime statistics from all over the nation. We then paired the data with our own research that highlights each city’s public safety, public health, and educational information, resulting in 2015’s “100 Safest Cities in America,” the report says.

All American municipalities with more than 10,000 residents were considered in the study.
According to the study, Ridgefield had 0 violent crimes per 1,000 residents and 3.02 property crimes per 1,000 residents.

“Secluded in Southern Connecticut, this community with a colonial past prioritizes safety. The city’s police hold an annual Halloween party and have developed programs like “G.R.A.D.D.” (Government of Ridgefield against Drunk Driving) in order to tackle substance abuse and other safety-related issues,” the study states.
