Ridgefield Residents Approve 2021-22 Town And School Budgets
About 1,300 residents voted in the annual referendum Tuesday, or just under 7 percent of those eligible.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — Residents passed the all the 2021-22 budgets plans in an exceptionally light turnout for the town's referendum Tuesday.
Voters approved a 102.26 million school budget by a vote of 977 to 339. The town proposed operating expenditures of $38 million, and debt service of $9.79 million on both Town and Education capital projects, was voted in by 1,108 to 207.
About 1,300 residents voted, or just under 7 percent of those eligible.
Other resolutions approved by Ridgefield voters included sidewalk improvements, upgrades to the Norwalk River Valley Trail, turf replacement at Scotts Ridge and Tiger Hollow fields, body cameras for the police, and school infrastructure renovations.
