For over 25 years, the Ridgefield School of Dance has been a cornerstone of classical ballet training in the community, renowned for its dedication to technique-driven instruction and a solid foundation in both classical and contemporary dance. The school is still accepting registration for the fall session and classes start on Monday, September 9.

"We always look forward to the start of the fall season to welcome back our dedicated dancers, many of whom have been with us for years, and to start working with new students," said Alison Brown, director of the Ridgefield School of Dance. "Our focus is on providing a strong foundation in technique and artistry, ensuring that each dancer, whether a beginner or preparing for a professional career, receives the highest quality instruction.”

The heart of the school is its classical ballet department, led by Artistic Director Jessica Boelts. This department offers classes beginning with pre-ballet for children starting at age 3 and progressing through the pre-professional level, culminating in advanced training in technique, pointe, and partnering.

In addition to ballet, the school offers a variety of classes including jazz (starting for 2nd graders), theatre dance, lyrical, modern, and contemporary fusion. For teens who are newly interested in ballet or prefer a once-a-week commitment, Ballet Technique for Teens provides an excellent option.

The studio is also reintroducing a mini 10-week Adult Ballet session, with classes held once a week, starting in mid-September and running just before the winter holidays, available at both beginner and intermediate levels. Additionally, it will continue to offer its long-standing adult drop-in class, NIA, a class that blends movement, mindfulness, and mind-body-spirit connection.

The fall season runs September 9 through January 25, with the spring session beginning on January 27 and continuing through the spring performance in early June. A highlight of the holiday season is the school’s annual performance of The Nutcracker, taking place November 17 at Ridgefield High School.

The Ridgefield School of Dance is committed to nurturing a love for dance in a supportive environment that fosters personal growth and artistic excellence. For more information or to register for classes, visit www.theridgefieldschoolofdance... or contact the school at 203-894-5957.
