Ridgefield Seeks Money to Care for Cemeteries
The Board of Selectmen have applied for a state grant.

RIDGEFIELD, CT -- The Board of Selectmen voted to have the town apply for a $2,000 “neglected cemetery grant” available from the state, The Ridgefield Press has reported.
The grant application references four cemeteries — Branchville, Maple Shade, Olbegun de Town and Ridgebury — as locations where the state money would be used to improve appearances.
The town has undertaken already upkeep of the Branchville cemetery, once maintained by Georgetown funeral home, but neglected when ownership of the parlor changed hands.
