Downtown Ridgefield Sets Dates for 2019 Holiday Stroll

"It'll nearly be like a picture print by Currier and Ives," as the song goes...

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Downtown Ridgefield has set the dates for its annual Holiday Stroll — and the unofficial start of the holiday season.

The strolling carolers and horse-drawn carriages will kick into gear on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5-10 p.m., and all day Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Describing the events on Facebook not-incorrectly as the "most-cherished of Ridgefield’s holiday celebrations," the non-profit organization is touting magic shows, ice sculpting, gift-wrapping services and elegant shopping along with the Norman Rockwell norms.

Originally a member committee of the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Ridgefield established its own identity in 2003, according to its Facebook page. The organization is made up of businesses that are located downtown, and hosts events and generates publicity to attract people into the area.
