Ridgefield Sets Public Hearing for Controlled Deer Hunt
The Board of Selectmen approved a controlled hunt of deer on town-owned property in September.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Town's Deer Management Implementation Committee has announced it will hold a Public Hearing at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Ridgefield Town Hall, to receive comments on the 2018-19 controlled hunt.
The Board of Selectmen approved a controlled hunt of deer on town-owned property in September.
The hunt will take place from October 15, 2018 until January 31, 2019. There will be no hunting on weekends, no hunting on days when schools are not in session, and no hunting on holidays. When the hunt is in progress, the parcels listed below will be closed to the public:
- Ridgebury Farms
- Turtle Ridge Court
- Shadow Lake
- Between Old Trolley & Shadow Lake
- Keeler Court
- Ridgefield Municipal Golf Course
- Sarah Bishop
- Old Stagecoach/Ledges Laurel Lane
- Bobby’s Court
- Levy Park
- Linden Road
- Stonecrest
- Colonial Heights
- Peaceable Refuge
- Silvermine Ridge
