RIDGEFIELD, CT-- If you're looking for fun, educational activities for your child to participate in this spring, Ridgefield and surrounding towns have plenty to offer. Below is a list of spring break camps and activities in the area.
Ridgefield:
- Spring Break Ramp Camp (all ages) Skateboarding: Learn to skate or improve skills. Campers will receive individualized and group instruction in skateboarding or inline skating (weather permitting). Ridgefield Parks & Rec
Ridgefield Parks and Recreation Spring Break Camp is Monday, April 14 to Friday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Yanity Complex (rain or shine) on Prospect Street. This camp for ages 3 to 11 and includes tennis, golf, capture the flag, soccer, basketball, kickball, scooter races on the tennis courts, sprinkler fun and arts and crafts activities. Steve DeMasco's Shaolin Studios Spring Break Camp:
- Learn the ancient art of Kung Fu, play Capture the Flag, create origami, battle Darth Vader on Star Wars Day with foam light sabers and battle zombies like in the popular game Minecraft. Miss Broderick will be telling some ancient Chinese legends. Ages 4-10. Steve DeMasco's Shaolin Studios is located at 15 Danbury Rd. Ridgefield. Call to register: (203) 431-5776. Cost is $35 per day. Siblings are 50% off. Anyone who goes to the camp and is not a student will get a pass for a FREE lesson at our studio.
- Creative, hands-on activities spring break week at The Aldrich. Visit the Education Center, explore drawing, experiment with ballpoint pen, create three-dimensional drawings with string and paper, or create with the items in the Materials Bar. The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum is located at 258 Main Street in Ridgefield. Free for members and for children 18 and under. Adults: $10, Seniors: $5, College Students: $5. Bethel:
- Spring Break Hours at Sky Zone: Open Jump, Dodgeball, Foam Zone, Sky Slam and Main Court jumping. Passes and coupons will not be accepted during Spring Break week. Sky Zone is located at 13 Francis J. Clarke Circle, Bethel.
Danbury:
Spring Break Camp at The Sports Dome:
- Ages 4-12: Players will work on skills and technique in soccer, kickball, dodgeball, wiffle ball, volleyball, flag football, and more. This camp is for ages 4-12 at the Danbury Sports Dome, 25 Shelter Rock Lane, Danbury. Half day cost is $150 and full day cost is $250. Register online here.
- All ages: Open Play Day FUN ZONE with large inflatables, multi-sport field games and an obstacle course. Drop in between 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. during spring break week. Parents must accompany children. Lunch available for purchase. Open play is $10 per child.
Spring Break at Gymnastics Spectrum:
- 3 hours of FUN includes sport games and other fun gym activities, traverse wall climbing, playtime on four inflatables, pizza and a drink. Ages: 3 (out of diapers) through 12 years old. Gymnastics Spectrum is located at 69 Kenosia Ave, Danbury. Members are $30 for 1st child, $25 for siblings.Non-Members: $35 for 1st child, $30 for siblings.
Newtown:
Spring Break at EverWonder Children's Museum
- Check out Flight Zone, Young Explorers Zone, the Nature Center room, Build a City room, Light, Sound and Shapes room and more. Children can also explore fingerprints and create origami in the Art Labs. The EverWonder Experience is located at 31 Pecks Lane Newtown. Cost is $7 per child or adult. Under age one is free.
Redding:
- Drop-in Spa and Craft Activities at Sparklicious: Spring Break Specials: Hair cuts: $15 +tax. Manicure & Make-your-own lip gloss: $12 +tax. Paint a ceramic item, make hand-made soap or a candle and get a free pop craft such as lip gloss, lotion or 2-scoop sundae scrub. Sparklicious is located at 28 Main Street, Redding. Wilton:
Spring Break Adventurers at Woodcock Nature Center:
- Hands-on activities, animal presentations, hikes and crafts including swamp study, birds and their nests and vernal pools. Camps are for ages 3-4 and 5-7 years old.
