Ridgefield Unanimously Tops Final Girls Soccer Coaches Poll

The Tigers captured their second straight Class LL championship by defeating Staples Sunday.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Ridgefield won its second consecutive Class LL championship by defeating Staples 1-0 Sunday at West Haven High School, and consequently topped the final coaches poll for Classes LL-L.

The Tigers were a unanimous top choice of all coaches voting in the LL-L poll, with Staples finishing second and Glastonbury third.

Lewis Mills captured its first Class M title, going into overtime to take down Plainfield 2-1 Sunday, also at West Haven. The Spartans received top nods from six of seven voters in Classes M-S, with Class S champion Old Lyme garnering the other first-place vote to wind up second. Plainfield came in third in the balloting.
