Ridgefield Voters Approve Town, School Budgets
All told, the new budget will mandate a 1.8 percent tax increase.

RIDGEFIELD, CT -- Voters approved everything on the budget ballots Tuesday by wide margins. A low voter turnout is being attributed to the severe storms that hit the region.
Given the green light in the referendum were:
- The $47.5-million town budget
- The $95-million school budget
- The $1,840,000 for roads and infrastructure
- The $1,350,000 for renovations at the Venus Building
- The $570,000 for a new parking lot in the village
- The $508,000 for roof replacements, building repairs and a study of drainage problems in the village
- The $886,000 for a fire department pumper-tanker and a highway department plow truck
- The $949,000 for school capital improvements
All told, the new budget will mandate a 1.8 percent tax increase.
