Ridgefield Wins Shootout, Earns Berth in Football Championship Game

SHELTON, CT — For the first time in 14 years, Ridgefield will be competing for a state football championship after outlasting Shelton in a semifinal slugfest Monday, 44-41.

A 20-yard touchdown pass with just 74 seconds remaining provided the Tigers with the winning margin.

Seventh-seeded Ridgefield (10-2) will face No. 1 Darien (12-0) Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at West Haven High School.
