Ridgefield Winter Club on Agenda for Two Meetings This Week

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The controversial Ridgefield Winter Club will be the subject of two more public hearings scheduled for this week.

Hearings will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 27, and Thursday, Nov. 29. The final hearing is set for Wednesday, Dec. 12.

The application for the proposed club at 340 Peaceable Street has been the topic of an extraordinary series of pubic forums. All told, 39 residents have spoken out during the forums, 35 against and 4 in favor. Those opposing the club's construction have typically cited concerns about its environmental impact, points which environmental scientists disputed during the fifth hearing.Planning and Zoning Commission is set to close the public side of their deliberation.
