About the Artists

Tony and Gayle have collaborated on numerous projects highlighting their travels to China, India, Portugal, Africa, and Russia. Their new collaboration explores the vibrant and exotic sights of Mexico.

“In Mexico the colors are loud and tall with flamboyant bougainvillea and striking red of hibiscus. There is so much light in Mexico it exploded all around us reflecting the silvery sand, transparent aqua sea, and lingering orange sunsets. The sensuality of perfectly blended aromas invigorated and relaxed us. We breakfasted with exotic birds who stole our fresh baked bread while prehistoric iguanas lazily lounged nearby. The brilliant ceramics, multi colored stucco, ancient symbols, fresh ceviche, and quiet spirituality, inspired us to make the magic of Mexico speak through our art.”

Tony Woolner is a professional architect who graduated from Rhode Island School of Design and did his graduate work in Architecture at Harvard. He has won awards for his contemporary home designs that have been featured in World Residential Design, Architectural Digest, Casa Vogue, The New York Times, L’Architecttura, House Beautiful, Architects Own Houses of The World and Houses Architects Live In. As an artist, Tony has evolved an original monoprint technique over the years, using a blend of mediums to achieve his result. Tony’s monoprint “Pawling” was featured in the 34th annual Juried Ridgefield Guild of Artists Show in September 2011.
