Scholastic Book Fair is a Huge Success at Wooster School
Over 500 books were purchased and all the proceeds will be used to purchase additional books for classroom libraries and the school library.
Students, parents, and teachers joined together for a Wooster Lower School and a Wooster Middle School Scholastic Book Fair earlier this month. The Scholastic Book Fair was a success, thanks to the many Wooster families that shopped and shared their enthusiasm for books with their children. Over 500 books were purchased and all the proceeds will be used to purchase additional books for classroom libraries and the school library.
Each grade had the opportunity to visit the Book Fair during the school day and filled out a "Wishlist" which was then shared with their parents. Students were very enthusiastic about our “Caught Reading” program, where teachers (usually not their own teacher!) could give them “tickets” if they were caught reading, and 2 lucky readers from the Lower School and from the Middle School won $20 gift certificates. There were numerous smiling faces when the winners of the book themed Raffle Baskets were announced too!
This year’s Book Fair had a “Paws for Books” theme. This allowed us to have a special event to coincide with the Book Fair. Guests were able to meet some therapy dogs and learn more about how they train for their special jobs. Our visitors from the Newtown Strong Therapy Dog program were very generous with their time and Jessie, Sundance, Maggie, Honcho, Koda, and Moona were very popular!
Thank you to all for your generous support!
