Shoplifter Nabbed Before He Could Steal Again: Ridgefield PD

Police say the man had just eluded capture at one pharmacy, but was arrested right before he could knock off a second one.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Police arrested a man for shoplifting from a local pharmacy on Tuesday.

At 4:45 p.m., Ridgefield police responded to a larceny complaint at CVS on Branchville Road. After setting off an exit alarm, a man was seen leaving the store with two bags of merchandise that he had not purchased.

The man's car was later located in the CVS parking lot on Main Street. Police report the man was attempting to take merchandise from the Main Street store when he saw officers in the parking lot and left the merchandise inside.

Police identified the man as Namor Clarke, from Brooklyn, NY, and determined that he was the same person involved in the shoplifting at CVS in Branchville.

Clarke was placed under arrest for larceny and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Sept. 3.
