St. Stephen’s Announces Kick-Off of New Chorister Season

The Chorister Program at St. Stephen's will have its official kick-off for the 2019-season on Wed., Oct. 9, at 5.

The Chorister Program at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church is recruiting youth in third grade through high school for the 2019-2020 season. It will have its official kick-off – complete with pizza - in the church’s choir room on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 5 p.m. It is open to all children in Ridgefield and surrounding communities.

St. Stephen’s, located at 351 Main St., follows the traditional Anglican/Episcopalian model of adults, boys and girls singing together to lead worship services. Directed by Minister of Music Alcee Chriss III, the Chorister Program uses the Voice for Life training program of the Royal School of Church Music. Choristers meet every Wednesday from 5-6 to study singing, repertoire, elements of music, and music in liturgy.

The choristers will participate in the church’s annual Christmas concert, Carols by Candlelight, on Dec. 14, as well as in an upcoming Evensong in November, a family Christmas Eve service and occasional Sunday worship services.

For information contact Dr. Chriss at the church office, 203-438-3789
