Thrown Stone Announces Its 2021 Season
Three world premieres, three Ridgefield locations, one unforgettable experience

Thrown Stone Announces its 2021 Season
Ridgefield, CT – In partnership with The Keeler Tavern Museum and History Center, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, and West Lane Inn, Thrown Stone Theatre Company announced a re-imagining of their 2021 season.
Three world premieres will be performed at three outdoor locations in Ridgefield, August 26 – September 12, 2021. Commissioned as short, site-specific works, the plays will be performed in sequence at Keeler Tavern, The Aldrich, and West Lane Inn as a single “roving production” (where the audience follows the action from location to location).
Three playwrights have been selected to explore the theme of The Suburbs: Tony Meneses, Phanésia Pharel, and Catherine Yu. Kholoud Sawaf has been selected to direct. Kimberly Wilson will serve as Associate Producer.
- Opens: August 27, 2021 at 7pm
- Closes: September 12
“With all that’s happened this past year, we felt a palpable need as citizens and neighbors to come together to write our next chapter,” said Co-Artistic Director Jason Peck, “so we enlisted the support of our local partners to create a theatrical experience that will be 100% compliant with public health guidelines.”
“A roaming production of three site-specific new plays casts Ridgefield as a starring role,” added Co-Artistic Director Jonathan Winn, “and the theme of The Suburbs is a chance for all of us to reflect on some important questions about who we are, who we were, and who we might be in the future.”
“Since the early 1700s, Keeler Tavern has been a gathering place,” said Keeler Executive Director Hildegard Grob. “We are thrilled to continue this tradition as a setting for this exciting new production.”
“The Aldrich is delighted to collaborate with Thrown Stone and our neighbors at the Keeler Tavern and the West Lane Inn on this project,” said Aldrich Executive Director Cybele Maylone, “which will bring an exciting, timely production to our community and highlight the dynamic and robust roster of arts and culture spaces in Ridgefield.”
“We are thrilled to be one of the three locations for Thrown Stone’s production,” said Christine Carnicelli, co-owner of West Lane Inn. “We love our Inn and are excited to share its beauty with our community,” added co-owner Danille Petrie. “What a creative way to promote the arts during these times.”

ABOUT THE 2020 SEASON
On April 14, 2020, we postponed our 2020 season to 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. As it became clear that widespread vaccinations would not be complete until the late summer months of 2021, we made the difficult decision to cancel the season entirely. We were saddened to lose the opportunity to work with the tremendous artists involved, and look forward to the chance to work with them at another time.
