Music enhances people's physical, psychological and emotional well-being, so when Broadway and concerts came to a screeching halt last March, people began looking for safe, creative ways to get music and the arts back into their lives. The Ridgefield Playhouse has two ways to safely experience the arts, celebrate Valentine's Day and help a couple of Broadway actors get back on the stage! In our first live performance of 2021, on February 14th at 4pm and 8pm, we’re bringing an evening of Broadway hits and pop tunes with Tony Award nominee Jarrod Spector (Jersey Boys, The Cher Show, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) and his wife Kelli Barrett (Broadway’s Wicked, Doctor Zhivago, FX’s Fosse/Verdon). The two performances are socially distanced with seating limited to 100 people per show in our 500-seat theater. In addition to upgraded MERV-13 air filters in the Theater, masks are required for all patrons. For those who are not yet ready to venture out, live stream tickets are available to hear songs from Broadway’s Jersey Boys, The Cher Show and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical along with songs by Michael Bublé, Billy Joel, James Taylor, The Carpenters and many more! The celebration includes free chocolate and champagne courtesy of Campari & Cinzano Prosecco and Deborah Ann’s Sweet Shoppe, and a raffle featuring amazing prizes generously donated by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa (spa package gift card); BMW of Ridgefield (Date Night – tickets to a show, dinner for two at Sarah’s Wine Bar and BMW with a driver); Silver Ribbon Jewelry of Westport (earrings and gift certificate). Anyone can purchase a raffle ticket whether you are coming to the show or not!

Hitched in 2014, Kelli Barrett & Jarrod Spector take you on an intimate journey following the uncanny parallels and fortuitous make-it-or-break-it moments throughout their careers and friendship that eventually brought them together. Spector is best known for his Tony Nominated performance in ‘Beautiful: the Carole King Musical’ in the role of Barry Mann. He played Frankie Valli for a record 1,500 performances in Broadway’s ‘Jersey Boys’ and debuted on the Great White Way at age 9 as Gavroche in ‘Les Miserables.’ He was last seen as the iconic Sonny Bono in Broadway’s ‘The Cher Show.’ Barrett originated the role of Lara Guishar in Broadway’s ‘Doctor Zhivago’ and has also played leading roles in Broadway’s ‘Wicked’, ‘Baby It’s You!’ and ‘The Royal Family’. She was lauded for her portrayal of Liza Minnelli in the award-winning FX show ‘Fosse/Verdon,’ adding this credit to over 2 dozen others in television and film. “Funny How It Happens” features pop favorites (Close To You, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, Be My Baby, etc.) and iconic songs from their Broadway musicals (You’ve Got a Friend, Cabaret, I Got You Babe, etc.) while offering an inside (and often hilarious) scoop on what life is really like as a married Broadway power couple. Part of the Teed & Brown Broadway & Cabaret Series, this show will be a safe and fun way to celebrate Valentine’s Day 2021! The shows are part of the Teed & Brown Broadway & Cabaret Series with Great White Way Sponsors: Lori & John Berisford, Northern Trust and Encore Performance Sponsors: Caroline & Rommin Adl, Garry& Lindsey Berger and Becky Sawtelle. Make it a night to remember – visit TerraSole Ristorante (3 Big Shop Lane, Ridgefield) or Bernard’s (20 West Lane, Ridgefield) for a special prix fixe menu before the show. The West Lane Inn is offering a 15% discount for ticket holders for an overnight stay – which also includes a complimentary mini bottle of champagne and breakfast.
