Susan Francis Luzzi (née Smeby), 82, died May 17, 2026, a mathematics and computer technology graduate who began her career at IBM, later worked as a technology paraprofessional and IT department staff member for a local board of education, and enjoyed playing piano, singing, reading, crocheting, bridge, travel, hosting family gatherings, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Gerry Ward, 84, died Apr. 10, 2026, a former NBA player and Boston College Hall of Famer who founded several businesses, established the Ridgefield Basketball Association, coached youth basketball, pursued wildlife photography in Africa, traveled extensively, and devoted time to mentoring underserved youth.
Mendy Polchinski, 69, died May 6, 2026, an avid hiker and pickleball player who devoted countless hours to volunteering with ROAR Animal Shelter and Meals on Wheels while pursuing a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors.
James Michael Flood, 71, died Feb. 27, 2026, an industrial engineer and IBM executive whose career included global work in manufacturing and supply chain management, and whose pursuits included golf, hockey, baseball, basketball, coaching youth sports, travel, and following Minnesota sports teams.
Mico Raebiger, 84, died Feb. 26, 2026, a former TWA flight attendant and Ridgefield High School French teacher whose passions included world travel, language instruction, painting, gardening, upholstery, reading, cooking, classical music and opera.
