What should be allowed to fly on the flagpole outside Ridgefield Town Hall? The Board of Selectpersons has asked residents to weigh in …
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Board of Selectpersons is inviting the public to weigh in on how to regulate the growing number of requests for flags to be displayed on the flagpole in front of Ridgefield Town Hall.
"The need for a policy has become evident in order to remain fair and unbiased to all members of our community," according to a statement released from the BOS on Friday.
At its regularly scheduled meeting to be held this Wednesday, Dec. 13, the Board will be discussing, and possibly voting upon, a Flag Policy for Town-owned properties. As with every BOS meeting, Public Comment is the first item on the agenda.
The full agenda will be posted on the Board of Selectpersons page on the Town website. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m., at East Ridge Middle School.
Locally, Easton, Greenwich and Darien are among the towns to codify what can and cannot be run up the flagpole.
