RIDGEFIELD, CT — March is Red Cross Month, and the organization has designated a local site for blood donors.
Ridgefield residents can donate blood on March 5 from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Ridgefield Park & Recreation Center, 195 Danbury Road.
The Red Cross is particularly interested in type O blood, but all types of blood are urgently needed to help ensure blood is available for patients this spring, officials said in a release.
Donors may make an appointment by downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or enabling the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.
