Wilton Police Charge New York Man With Impersonating An Officer

Police say the man led them on a high-speed chase after he went on a spree of police impersonations.

WILTON, CT — A man police charged with impersonating an officer led the real deal on a high-speed chase Sunday evening.

Wilton police say they observed a 1998 Mercedes-Benz E320 station wagon speeding northbound on Danbury Road near Old Mill Road around 6:50 p.m. The driver, David Rozon, 41, of Lawrence Street in White Plains, NY, was traveling with red and blue lights flashing on his dashboard.

A Wilton officer attempted to stop Rozon, who instead fled, leading the police officer on a chase into Redding, where local police there finally got him to pull over.

Upon investigation, Wilton police learned that Rozon "had used the red and blue flashing lights to stop a vehicle on Danbury Road earlier in the evening at which time he exited his vehicle, identified himself as a police officer, and yelled at the other operator before fleeing," according to their report.

Rozon also admitted to using the flashing lights routine to pull over a vehicle that had cut him off on Interstate 95 earlier in the evening.
