CT Lottery officials are still looking for the person who purchased a $1 million Powerball winner.

ROCKY HILL, CT — Connecticut Lottery officials on Thursday said they are still looking for the player who purchased a $1 million winning ticket in the Powerball game four months ago.
The ticket was purchased for the May 2 drawing at Georgetown Shell, 912 Danbury Road, Wilton.
The numbers on the ticket matched the first five white balls drawn on May 2, 2018: 5 - 14 - 31 - 40 - 50.

- The prize money can be transferred to the state's General Fund (which is where 100 peercent of all Lottery profits normally are sent).
- The prize money can be used to supplement the advertising and marketing needs of the CT Lottery.
- The prize money can be returned to players, in the form of prizes (i.e., special promotions).
At various times throughout the CT Lottery's history, all three options have taken place. However, in the "vast majority" of cases, the money is returned to the state's General Fund, "since the mission of the CT Lottery is to provide revenue to the state, via contributions to the General Fund," officials said.
