2 Displaced After Fire Breaks Out At Rocky Hill Apartment Building

Firefighters responded to the call Monday evening.

ROCKY HILL, CT — Two people and one pet were displaced following a fire at an apartment complex in Rocky Hill.

Fire officials said the blaze was reported at 100 West St. at 6:12 p.m. Monday.

Firefighters arrived at the apartment complex and found smoke showing at the front entrance.

An investigation found a fire in a stove in the kitchen of a second-floor apartment, according to fire officials.

Crews extinguished the fire, then searched for any extension of the blaze. Firefighters then ventilated the building of smoke and took readings for hazardous conditions.

All residents safely evacuated. No residents or first responders were hurt. Two people and one pet were displaced.

Part of West Street was temporarily closed to traffic during the fire but has since reopened.
