$999 Million At Stake In Upcoming Lottery 'Power' Drawings
2 lottery 'power' jackpots total $999 million and the Lotto top prize is worth more than $5 million this week.

ROCKY HILL, CT — Two "power" lottery jackpots are still up for grabs with a combined payout of $999 million, Connecticut Lottery officials said Monday. Players have a chance to win an estimated $654 million in the Mega Millions game with a cash lump sum option of $372.6 million Tuesday night. The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday is estimated at $345 million, with a cash lump sum option of $199 million, officials said.
The last time Mega Millions jackpot was hit was July 24 in California, officials said. Tuesday will be the 24th draw in the current jackpot run. The overall odds of winning a Mega Millions prize are 1 in 24.0. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 303 million.
The last time the Powerball jackpot was hit was Aug. 11, 2018 in New York. Saturday will be the 19th draw in the current jackpot run. To date, there have been six Powerball jackpots won this year. The overall odds of winning a Powerball prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 292 million.

Connecticut’s own jackpot game, Lotto, is $6.7 million with an estimated cash value of $5.5
million.
In fiscal year 2018, players won more than $791 million in prize money and retailers earned $70 million in commissions. At the same time, the CT Lottery sent $345 million to support the services and programs financed by the state's General Fund, including public health, libraries, public safety and education. Since the Lottery began in 1972, contributions to the General Fund have exceeded $9.5 billion.
