Rocky Hill Fire Department Battles Condominium Fire

ROCKY HILL, CT — The Rocky Hill Fire Department CT was busy Saturday battling a blaze on Drummind Drive.

At 6:33 a.m. Saturday, the Rocky Hill Fire Department (RHFD) was called to 6 Drummond Drive for the report of a structure fire located on the third floor.

Upon arrival, the first fire units determined that there was smoke on the third floor of a multi-unit condominium complex, fire officials said.

A search was conducted, and it was determined to be an active fire located in a second-floor exhaust fan.

The fire was extinguished. The areas were metered for hazardous gases, and ventilation was performed to remove smoke and gases.

The Rocky Hill Fire Marshal’s Office and EMS were requested to the scene. Newington and Wethersfield Fire Departments provided town coverage.

The RHFD cleared the scene at 7:54 a.m. and it has been turned over to the fire marshal’s office for their investigation. There were no injuries to the residents or first responders.
