• Rocky Hill Fire Department Battles Condominium Fire (patch.com) — Rocky Hill residents awoke Saturday to a serious condominium fire on Drummond Drive, quickly contained by the Rocky Hill Fire Department. Firefighters traced the blaze to a second-floor exhaust fan, checked for hazardous gases, and ventilated the building, with mutual aid from Newington and Wethersfield. No residents or first responders were injured, and the scene is now under investigation by the fire marshal’s office.    

• Tiny Kitten Rescued From Rocky Hill Sewer After Firefighters Crawl Underground (dailyvoice.com) — Rocky Hill firefighters crawled through sewer pipes off Main Street Thursday evening to rescue a tiny kitten trapped underground, eventually guiding it safely between access points. The kitten was then brought to Rocky Hill police and transferred to an animal rescue, where a veterinarian will check its health. It’s a small but heartwarming example of local crews going the extra mile.
