Injured Person Hospitalized Following Rescue At Rocky Hill Park

ROCKY HILL, CT — A person injured was hospitalized following a rescue at Quarry Park in Rocky Hill, fire officials said.

Firefighters were dispatched for an injured person at the park at 4:20 p.m., Thursday. This included a utility terrain vehicle, or UTV, to help access and remove the person.

Crews met with the injured person's family, who described landmarks to help them find the injured person. A Parks & Recreation Department employee who had intimate knowledge of the park also provided assistance.

Crews on the UTV then found the person on the lower blue trail. They then secured the injured person to a stretcher and took them back by UTV on Esther Road.

The person was then taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

No first responders were injured.
