• Man charged with murder in deadly Rocky Hill stabbing had pending domestic violence case (wtnh.com) — A Rocky Hill woman was fatally stabbed in her Concord Drive apartment in August, and a judge has now set a $2 million bond for the man charged with her murder and violating a protective order. Police say he was arrested in New York, extradited to Connecticut, and will return to court Sept. 17 as the domestic-violence case moves forward.
• New York developer plans 160 CT apartments this winter, nearly 630 to follow. 'We've spent years and millions' (courant.com) — Rocky Hill's twin five-story Vessel apartment buildings, totaling 96 units, appear complete and the developer hopes tenants can move in by late January. Local officials haven't commented publicly, but the company says permitting is done as it pushes similar "attainable" housing projects across Connecticut amid lawsuits, delays, and strong demand.
• Raven, Butterfly, Goldfinch And August Is Over! (blogspot.com) — A local birder describes biking through the farm fields along the Connecticut River in Rocky Hill, where closed gates now make the five-mile route best explored by bike. Along the way they enjoyed ravens, goldfinches, and butterflies, and share how planting zinnias at home reliably attracts colorful birds and pollinators as summer winds down.
