Belden Library To Host Make It Mondays Online With Zoom, Beginning July 13

Starting Monday, July 13th, join us for an hour of crafting during our virtual Adult Craft Night! Each week we will create a different craft with materials from a Make It Mondays! bag you pick up from the library the week before. Look through the items and familiarize yourself with the included instructions for any prepping you may need to do or any additional tools/materials needed before craft night. Not sure about your crafting skills? Don't worry, we'll be making it together virtually! Make It Mondays! is part of the Adult Summer Reading Program and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. All adult attendees will have their names entered into our Adult Summer Reading raffle for a chance to win a gift card at the end of August. The more you attend, the better your chances of winning are!

Nothing says summer like a big juicy watermelon wreath gracing your entryway or given as a gift! We’ll supply the fabric for the watermelon, the black felt fabric for the seeds and the wire wreath form. BEFORE THE PROGRAM You will be cutting the fabric into enough 1x7 inch strips so that we can start attaching the strips onto the wreath during class. This craft has A LOT of cutting and knotting! When you’re cutting to prep for class, focus on just one color at a time. At the end you’ll need glue to attach the black watermelon seeds you’ll cut from the felt. I found that a hot glue gun works well for this, but you can also use a craft glue like Aleene’s Tacky Glue (which you can find at any craft store).

In order to complete this craft, you will need to purchase or have on hand: ruler, glue or hot glue gun, pencil, scissors OR a rotary cutter, self-healing mat and a rotary rulerA separate registration is required for each week's session. You will receive your Zoom login information by email. You will also be notified by email when your Make It Mondays! bag of supplies is ready to be picked up.
