Bystanders, Police Pull Victim From Burning Car In Rocky Hill

A person trapped in a burning car was saved by emergency crews and bystanders on Thanksgiving Day.

ROCKY HILL, CT — State police and good Samaritans sprung into action to remove a victim from a burning car Thanksgiving Day afternoon, according to the Rocky Hill Fire Department. The crash was reported on I-91 Southbound near Exit 24 at 12:51 p.m.

"Thankfully, several bystanders and the CT State Police were able to control the flames and remove the victim prior to the fire department’s arrival," the fire department wrote on Facebook. "A heartfelt thanks to those who stopped on this busy holiday weekend and the State Police for ensuring the driver was able to get to celebrate Thanksgiving with family."
