Change of Officers at Rocky Hill Fire Department Company 2

I am happy to report that Wally Sliva has been named Captain of Company 2 located on New Britain Ave. He is replacing Chris Brainard who has decided to retire from that position as of January 2018. Chris will continue at Company 2 as a Line Firefighter.

Chris Brainard started his Firefighter career in 1979 as a Cadet. (In Rocky Hill, if you are 16 or 17 years of age, you can join the department as a cadet.) Following his successful completion of the Cadet program and probation period, Chris became a full active member in March of 1981. In his 34 year career, Chris was Lieutenant for approximately 14 years and served as Captain for 6 years.

Wally Sliva has been a Firefighter for 34 years. For the past 17 years he has served in the Rocky Hill Fire Department serving as Lieutenant for the past 4 years.

Carlos Redick was promoted from 2nd Lieutenant to 1st Lieutenant and Niel Khunkhun completes the new leadership team at Company 2 by receiving the promotion from Line Firefighter to 2nd Lieutenant.

Company 2 is located on New Britain Ave.

All the members of the Fire Department celebrate the exceptional leadership displayed by Chris Brainard and know that Company 2 has been placed on the capable hands of Wally Sliva.
