CT Lottery Touting 'Retro Game' on Monday

The lottery was honoring a longtime game on Monday.

ROCKY HILL, CT — Monday was "NATIONAL RETRO DAY" at state lottery headquarters.

The CT Lottery was remembering one of the longest-running instant games in its history, Mega Money.

The first edition of Mega Money was launched on March 5, 1994 and the latest iteration is the 25th edition which launched on April 5, 2017.

The $2 ticket has been a favorite among CT Lottery players, officials said.

Instant games are a large part of the CT Lottery’s game portfolio. In fact, they accounted for 59.2 percent of total net sales and $144,232,958 in General Fund payments in fiscal year 2017, officials said. The state’s General Fund supports valuable services and programs including public health, libraries, public safety and education.
